Sad cat

I love the young lion and the way she has positioned herself on the log - the textures, colours and tiny details are perfect. Her isolation tells the story that "words" have been said and she is not happy.

I find the gray background too distracting and whilst the colour and tone show off the lion and her log the texture of the back wall takes the eye to the wrong areas. Not including more of the trunk gives a broken effect to the two pieces of the tree

These two factors make me feel the composition is not quite right ... I either want to see a portrait image with less background, or I want to see something that has caught her attention low down and to the front or I want to see what is behind her.
