finally a new journal! Holidays are fading and I felt to do at least one… before I have again not that much time for anything. BUT that does not mean that I stop upload photos again. I try to upload at least twice a week. Let's see how long I can keep that up

For the journal, I wanted to show you all some real art. I know, photography is also an art (and I even upload my stuff on deviantART ), but for me even better are drawings and paintings.

But with work, some illness and my private life there is just so little time.

it is really hard to loose someone you love. Today my grandma died and I am just devastated.

• Hi Sven, could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Hello! I am Sven, on dA more known as Svenimal (a mix of Sven and Animal Clever, eh?!). I am from Germany and currently I am a photographer trainee. Next to photography, what is one of the biggest parts of my life, I am totally into books. Right now I read a certain book from Bram Stoker.
• What camera and lenses do you use?
At work I use the Canon 5D Mark II, but for most of the stuff I do here, I use the Nikon D300 with many lenses. Mostly I use the Nikkor 300mm 4,0 and the Nikkor 105mm 2,8 micro. Also always with me is the 70-200mm 2,8 from Sigma and the 50mm 1,4 from Nikon.
• What is it with Sven and Zoos?
One of the shows I saw really ofte

But fort he most asked question: Yes, I am a photographer and I do photography for a living. But not animalshots... Rather commercial still-shots.

to make up for my absence the last weeks (months?!), I want to show you now in a journal a great place for animal photography in a german zoo.

for the birthday of my best friend we went to a zoo close to Hamburg, in a city called 'Neumünster'.
Next to some exotic animals, there are many European animals in nice enclosures.
We took my dog on that visit and she did not pay any attention to the wolves or dingos, but to the polarfoxes

You may wonder where I have been the past days; I was on vacation

Together with I visited Leipzig and Nürnberg (that is both in germany ), of cause to see the new parts of the zoo. Apart from that, there is still much work here, so I will be not that much online in the near future.

But by now I want to take you with me, to see the two new zoo-attractions I visited!



1. Gondwanaland Tropical Hall at Leipzig Zoo:



It's a huge tropical hall with many tropical plants and animals in it. You can go around there by foot or by boat:

Sometimes much stuff goes wrong just because you say things different than others would like to hear them or you just don't think about what you can do with words if not well thought about them. Still there are people who still bother with me, for what I am very grateful!
